HP-UX Operating Environments (OEs) are tested and integrated application bundles designed to work with the operating system and provide the functionality needed for your system's purpose.
HP-UX 11i v2 Technical Computing OE (TCOE) is designed for compute-intensive technical applications on HP servers and workstations. TCOE contains the base 64-bit HP-UX operating system, network drivers, and other always-installed functionality, plus optimized math libraries (MLIB), message-passing interface (HP-MPI), technical system configuration (TechSysConf), and extensive graphic applications.
In addition to tools and applications bundled in TCOE, customers in the High Performance Computing area often use other tools such as GlancePlus for comprehensive system performance monitoring and analysis, online JFS for filesystem fine tuning, and MirrorDisk/UX for software disk mirroring. For customers who need to have multi-system high availability support, HP offers MC/ServiceGuard for fail-over support. These tools and applications can be ordered a la carte on top of TCOE.

HP support for Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 adds to customers’ choices of HP-UX, Windows and Linux to meet their HPC operating environment requirements.
Windows Compute Cluster Server™ is a two-component product. The first component is Windows Server 2003 Compute Cluster Edition (CCE), a 64-bit operating system derived from Windows Server 2003, Standard x64 Edition. The second component is the Microsoft Compute Cluster Pack (CCP) which provides tools to deploy, and manage a cluster including: a Job Scheduler, MPI, and consoles and interfaces to manage cluster nodes and jobs. These tools are integrated with existing Windows infrastructure. For example, users and security are managed using Active Directory and cluster management consoles utilize Microsoft Management Console. Cluster Pack tools work with Visual Studio 2005 which supports MPI, parallel debugging and OpenMP.
As part of the HP Unified Cluster Portfolio, Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 is available on HP Cluster Platform 3000 and 4000 systems and Cluster Platform 4000 blade systems.
The HP Message Passing Interface (HP-MPI), a leading implementation of the MPI standard and critical for creating and porting parallel applications, is available with Windows Compute Cluster Server. In addition, many 64-bit applications have been ported and optimized for Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003.
