The HP Cluster Platforms provide a solid, reference platform for developing and deploying applications. With its partners, HP offers a complete software development environment for all three available operating systems, and has been a pioneer in Grid Computing. HP supports leading applications for all key HPC industry segments, and works closely with its partners and the open source community to ensure the availability of those solutions on our industry-standard HP Cluster Platforms.

HP's overall development strategy

  • To provide best of breed tools from HP and our partners.
  • To ensure application portability across HP operating environments. HP MPI and other tools on all platforms simplifies application portability.
  • To provide the latest tools technology aimed at increased HPC programmer productivity in HPC, Multicore and Accelerator environments

The objective of the strategy is to optimize HPC applications on HPC Clusters, multicore and accelerator based systems so that customers can realize the full benefits of the technology more quickly. HP brings together a robust portfolio of products and technologies from HP and our development partners. The development tools portfolio, includes compilers, debuggers, math libraries, performance tuning and other development tools, which are now available for a variety of processor and system architectures, operating systems and interconnects. Development tools

HP's Unified Clusters Portfolio includes best of breed tools from HP and its partners, and offers the latest tools technology aimed at increasing HPC programmer productivity.

An expanding selection of tools from HP and HP's partners are available as featured Unified Cluster Portfolio options.

»  Libraries for math, scientific, and parallel  programming

     •  HP MPI (message-passing interface)
     •  Additional programming libraries


HP-MPI is available standalone, and as part of the HP HPC Linux Value Pack which also includes Platform LSF and HP UPC with SHMEM.

Applications

The combination of HP’s Cluster Platforms and supported solutions from our Unified Cluster Partners provides rapidly deployable, production solutions for a wide range of high performance applications.
