HP advances affordability and productivity HP has announced the HP Scalable Visualization Array (HP SVA), advancing the company’s mission to make high performance computing (HPC) technology more affordable and accessible for a broader range of customers.

Launched at the SC|05 Supercomputing Conference, the HP SVA leverages industry standard components and advances in clustering, graphics and networking technology to provide scientists and engineers with flexible and powerful visualization and analytical capabilities. HP SVA is a key part of the HP Unified Cluster Portfolio, which is designed to integrate computation, data management, and visualization in a single cluster environment, greatly enhancing productivity in HPC environments.

Along with the new Visualization Array, HP also announced additional enhancements to the HP Unified Cluster Portfolio, including:

  • Version 3.0 of the HP XC System Software, including new distributed management and provisioning features;

In addition, a number of software partners have announced further support for the HP Unified Cluster Portfolio, including:

  • CEI, which announced EnSight DR, the first commercial visualization application that brings the power of parallel graphics to the desktop;
  • Level5 Networks, which announced that it’s high-performance EtherFabric interconnect now supports HP-MPI (Message-Passing Interface);
  • Platform Computing, which announced that its Open Cluster Stack (OCS) is now available with the HP Cluster Platform 3000;
  • Scientific Computing Associates, provider of TCP Linda and Paradise software, which announced an ease of use development tool set for HP Cluster Platform solutions.
