A range of capabilities for visualization is enabled with HP. Remote visualization allows geographically dispersed users to share centrally-managed high end graphic servers; multiple servers can be applied to render large data sets or drive multiple displays; and parallel visualization can be simplified with the open source, HP-developed VizStack.
Remote Access to Visualization Resources
HP Remote Graphics Software (RGS) is an advanced connection protocol that allows a user to access and share the desktop of a remote computer over a standard network. All applications run natively on the remote computer and take full advantage of the compute and graphics resources of the sending system. RGS uses a standard network to a window on a local client using advanced image compression technology, specifically designed for text, digital imagery, and high frame-rate video applications.
Scale up with Graphic-enabled Servers and Workstations
High-end systems can enable higher resolution, with support for multiple panels, higher performance and more data capacity. Graphic-enabled systems can:
- Support multiple panels and visualization caves
- Drive large modeling with up to 512GB+ memory capacity
- Allow aggregration into single node for meshing, pre- and post-processing, and visualization applications
Many ProLiant DL systems, as well as Blade and traditional workstations, are now enabled for high-end graphic cards, such as Nvidia FX3800 and FX5800, as well as graphic platforms such as Nvidia Quadroplex, with the requisite power and cooling to support this capability. Consolidate multiple servers to deploy render farms and visualization clusters for distributed parallel visualization applications such as ray-tracing.
Administration capabilities for visualization
Simplify management of visualization resources with tools such as VizStack. VizStack, an open source tool developed by HP, makes it easier to manage complex display surfaces, and allocate visualization resources to users and workloads. HP Cluster Management Utility can be integrated with VizStack, to facility the availability of visualization resources within a cluster environment. |
